Melanie and Marc Chartrand are a wife/husband directing team who have worked together as visual artists for over a decade. As photojournalists they traveled the world documenting stories great and small; from global shifts in power to the personal narratives of unheard voices. Their distinct visual aesthetic eventually led to music, fashion and advertising where their passion to explore the narratives of their subjects evolved into directing. This blending of experience and perspective fuels their approach to filmmaking, where they synthesize a visceral sense of energy, a metaphoric eye for imagery, and a sensitivity for the quiet and the introspective. As directors, they long to rouse imaginations through an experiential style of filmmaking as a way explore and express the subtle complexity of the human experience. They have produced work globally for many clients including Starbucks, Nissan, Chrysler, Miller Lite, AT&T, McDonald’s, American Airlines in partnership with agencies Wieden+Kennedy, TBWA\Chiat\Day, BBDO, Anomaly, McCann and many others.
